Description : দেশী সারস পৃথিবীর লম্বা উড়ন্ত পাখিদের মধ্যে একটি পাখি।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ১৫৬ সেমি., ওজন ৮ কেজি, ডানা প্রায় ৬৫ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে)এদের দেহ উপর ও নিচের দিক থেকে ফিকে/ হাল্কা ধূসর রঙের। এদের পালকবিহীন মাথা লাল এবং মাথায় ধূসর-সবুজ টুপির ন্যায় অংশ বিদ্যমান। এরা মাছ, ব্যাঙ, গিরগিটি, ঘাস ফড়িং, পোকামাকড়, জলজ গাছের বিভিন্ন অংশ খায়। জুলাই-সেপ্টেম্বর এদের প্রজননকাল।
