Description : The Masked Palm Civet is about the size of a house cat, with a body length of 40 to 50 cm and a tail length of 30 to 40 cm. It has a grayish-brown fur with a black mask around its eyes and a black stripe that runs from its forehead to the back of its neck. Its ears are rounded and its feet have pads for climbing.
This species is native to Southeast Asia, and can be found in a variety of habitats such as forests, plantations, and even urban areas.
Masked Palm Civets are primarily nocturnal, meaning they are active at night. They are solitary animals, and spend most of their time on trees, although they also forage on the ground for food. They are known to be good climbers and can move quickly through trees.
The Masked Palm Civet is an omnivore, meaning it eats both plant and animal matter. Their diet includes fruits, insects, small mammals, and sometimes birds and eggs.
Females give birth to 1-3 offspring at a time, which they care for until they are able to fend for themselves.
The Masked Palm Civet is listed as a species of "Least Concern" on the IUCN Red List, although habitat loss and hunting for their meat and fur are potential threats to their population.
