Description : The Rofous-rumped Grassbird is a streaked rufous-brown passerine with a broad blackish tail (length 16 cm, wing 6 cm, bill 1.4 cm, tarsus 2.4 cm, tail 14.7 cm). The upperparts are rufous-brown heavily streaked with black except for the rufous rump and wings, the streaks on the nape are white or buff. It has a white supercilium and the underparts are mostly white but for its flanks and sides of the breast which are rufous-buff. The dark blackish-brown tail is broad with white tips to the feathers, most visible from below. Its irises are reddish-brown, the legs and feet are fleshy-brown and the bill is brown. It breeds in July-August. It feeds on insects.
