Description : The Red-necked Grebe is a dark-grey, stocky waterbird. It has olive-green feet. (adult bird length approximately 45 cm, weight 1200 g, wing 75 cm). It breeds in April-Aug and nests on shallow water of small lakes, lagoons, etc. It forages by swimming and diving in shallow water; and feeds mainly aquatic arthropods such as waterbugs, beetles and dragonfly larvae.
