Description : The Asian Koel is a dark long-tailed bird with striking red eyes (adult bird length approximately 43 cm, weight 170 g, wing 22 cm, bill 3.3 cm, tarsus 3.5 cm, tail 20 cm). The male looks very different from the female. The male is entirely glossy black, tinged with blue and green. The female from above looks brown spotted with white and buff. It breeds in March-July.
