Description : Swamp barb is an elongated bodied fish with 1 pair of barbels.Body is silvery with a golden operculum.A dark spot is present near the tail.Dorsal fin has a black mark on its base and 1 or 2 rows of black spots in the centre.During breeding season,males develop a red band along the side of the body.
