Description : Toothpony is ovate and somewhat compressed.Its body is bluish dorsally and silvery-white ventrally. The toothed ponyfish is typically found inhabiting sandy and silty bottoms, with juveniles showing a preference for mangroves and silty reefs. When feeding, it utilizes its protruding pipette-like mouth or employs the gill rakers as sieves. Its diet primarily includes smaller fishes, crustaceans, and polychaetes.
