Description : The Green-crowned Warbler is a small olive-green and yellow passerine (length 10 cm, weight 7 g, wing 5.6 cm, bill 1.4 cm, tarsus 2 cm, tail 4.8 cm). The upperparts are a uniform olive-green without wing bars, or with a very feint single yellow wing bar, except for white inner webs to the outer tail feathers. The centre of the crown and sides of the face are green, broken by broad black stripes on either side of the crown extending from the base of the bill to the nape. It has a complete yellow eye ring. The underparts are entirely yellow with a greenish wash to the breast and flanks. It has dark brown irises, the legs, feet and claws are yellowishbrown. Its bill is bicoloured: with a dark brown-blackish upper mandible with yellowish edges and tip, and a yellow or orange-yellow lower mandible. The male and the female look alike. It breeds in early May-July. It feeds mainly on insects.
