Description : The Egyptian Vulture is a mostly white bird, the size of a Black Kite and has a small head with a bare yellow face (adult bird length approximately 61 cm, wing 46 cm, tarsus 7.8 cm, tail 24 cm). It has long pointed wings with white covers and white centred secondaries, black flight feathers and a wedge-shaped white tail. It is not known to hunt any living creature and feeds only on dead and rotting flesh. It breeds in February-April. The breeding season of the eagles occurs in spring. During this time, courting pairs engage in high-soaring flights together, and they may perform steep spiralling or swooping dives. The eagles are monogamous, often maintaining pair bonds for multiple breeding seasons, and they frequently reuse the same nest sites each year. The nest itself is an untidy platform made of twigs and lined with rags. It can be found on a cliff ledge, a building, or in the fork of a large tree. Occasionally, the eagles may also take over and repurpose old nest platforms from other eagles.
