Description : মহাশোল একটি বড় মাছ যার দুই জোড়া বারবেল আছে।উপরের চোয়াল কিছুটা লম্বা এবং ঠোঁট পুরু আর মাংশল হয়।শরীর উপরে সবুজাভ-রূপালী আর পাশে রূপালী যেখানে সোনালী আভা থাকে।আঁশ সোনালী হয় আর এর গোড়া গাঢ় যা গঠিত হয় ছোট কালো বিন্দু দ্বারা।পাখনা হলুদ হয়ে থাকে।
