Description : দেশি মেটে হাঁস/ পাতিহাঁস বড় আকারের হাঁস, এর ঠোঁট থেকে চোখ পর্যন্ত কাল বর্ণের স্ট্রিপ লক্ষ্য করা যায়।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৬১ সেমি. ওজন প্রায় ১.৪ কেজি ও ডানা প্রায় ২৬.৫ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে)চোখের সামনে ২টি লাল স্পট আছে। জুলাই-অক্টোবর এদের প্রজননকাল।
