Description : পাতি ডাহর লম্বা পায়ের স্থলচর পাখি।কালো।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৪৮.৫ সেমি. ওজন ৬৫৫ কেজি, ডানা ২১সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) প্রজনন মৌসুমে পুরুষ পাখির মাথা, গলা, পেট সম্পূর্ণ কালো, তবে ডানার পালক ও গলার কলার সাদা রঙের। এরা পোকামাকড়, গিরগিটি, ঘাসফড়িং খায়। তাছাড়া ডুমুর, বরই, গাছের বীজ, শস্য, ঘাসও খায়। এরা সাধারণত পৃথকভাবে বা জোড়ায় ঘন তৃণভূমিতে বা মাঝে মাঝে ফসলের ক্ষেতে দেখা যায়।
